Blame it on Tom

I lost this week- weight for it...... weight for it.....    .2 pounds!!!!

Wooopeee!!! Believe it or not Im actually happy about this little drop in the bucket. The first 5 days of this week I really did try. But the scale was not budging and overall I just felt bloated, no matter how hard I tried. I was tired and sluggish and definitely not motivated to do that much exercise. By Friday I was frustrated and pretty much not tracking. Then all the sudden I realized I'm fighting Mother Nature this week! So I decided I wasn't going to beat myself up. Luckily by the grace of the scale I managed to drop .2 - not much- but you know what, I will take it!

And I thought I should tell you the gal I was irritated with in my WW class (you remember her, the one that almost hit the 100 pound mark) well, she hit it this week. And I was very happy for her. It was a reminder that even though this weight loss thing is extremely irritating sometimes there is an end in sight. We just have to wade past the Twinkles and Big Macs to find it...

Im sure I will do better this week maybe I will start now with a little walk-

See you lighter!

I didnt tell you...

I celebrated my one year anniversary of WW on June 20. One year of attending classes- with minimal meeting-skips... I should have been proud of it but I wasn't...

I didn't tell you because it was bittersweet. I had lost 31 pounds this year, and gained 7-8 lbs. of it back in the last couple months. I didn't tell you because when I made the announcement I wanted it to be in a posting that I could celebrate- and I haven't wanted to celebrate weight loss for awhile now.

But today I can proudly say- I lost 4 pounds this week and I have been on Weight Watchers for 1 year... and 33 days .

How did I do it? I worked my ass off this week.... imagine that! I ate well, tracked my food, and exercised. And it worked!!! I lost weight!!!! Plus, I faced the fat: I stuffed my cute, fluffy thighs into my 3-sizes too small bathing suit and I went swimming.

So, what better way to kick off another great week, than to fill my fridge, and prepare for the next week.  Here's to a "healthy" fridge, a year (and 33days) on WW... AND next week's 4 pound loss! Keep your fingers crossed for me!

See you lighter!!! xo

It's baaaaaaaack....

It is going to be hard. VERY, VERY hard...

to keep this weight OFF.  You thought I was going to say to lose this weight, didnt ya?

No, I am learning just how hard it is to keep this weight off. I am FAR from my end goal. But I have lost 30 pounds- or I should say "had" lost 30 pounds. Now I am finding out what everyone has always said, Losing the weight is half the battle... keeping it off.... now that is another story.

I have officially gained 8 pounds of my weight back. I am embarrassed and a little ashamed. I've been telling people that I wasnt losing- I was "maintaining".  But when I went to my WW meeting Sunday I realized, "Holy Shit! This weight can come back... quickly." And here I am back up into the 170's again....*sigh*.

Sunday's WW meeting was bittersweet. When I learned I had gained this week, I felt defeated. Upset. In fact, I hate to say it I was annoyed. I was irritated at the poor girl next to me who was celebrating losing 99.2 pounds. I hate that I was annoyed- but quite frankly I didn't want to hear it. I was upset at myself and I didn't want to celebrate for anyone.

Despite being in a funky mood, I sat there and listened to the leaders advice. Which luckily was a message that hit home... it was about dieting. She re-iterated that this plan is not a DIET. It is a way of life, we are being prepared for the life we will have and the "rules" we will follow when we finally hit our goal. The leader said something that struck a chord - When you become a lifetime member you will earn a few extra points--- that's it. Just because you become lifetime does not mean you can eat like a horse again.

I dont know what to say except that it scared me a bit... I dont know what to do with this new realization. It pisses me off... I love to eat... now I have to eat healthy FOREVER... that is, if I dont want to gain the weight back.

I always knew it... but now... I have to accept it.

A dedication to my walking buddy

Last week we celebrated one year together. I cant believe we have had him for a whole year now! In his honor I am dedicating this blog post to my faithful walking buddy, my four legged turd burglar- my dog- Ziggy!!!!

Last year when we adopted little Ziggy I was at my heaviest- 196 pounds. He was actually one of my excuses to get in shape. Most people say there kids inspire them to get in shape- but I was inspired my little Schneigle.

Back then I hated to exercise. Getting off the coach was a chore for me. When we adopted our little boy all that changes- we had to walk- or he would drive us CRAZY!!!! So we started walking a mile every night- that mile gradually increased to two or three miles a day. I soon realized I really enjoyed our nightly walks. Probably almost as much as he did. Walking was such a stress release, it was a great way to re-introduce exercise into my lifestyle. In a little less than a year I went from walking to running a 5k, playing on a soccer team and taking yoga classes. And I feel like I owe part of that to Ziggy.

To this day, when I don't feel like moving off that couch I look at him and know he needs it as much as I do...  and who can resist those little begging eyes???

Thank-you little Ziggy, you remind me every day to get moving!

Enough blogging now- its time for his morning jaunt!

See you lighter!

P.S. 3 pounds down this week!

A slight snag...

Already? Are you serious? Only two days in?????

All day Sunday and (almost) all-day Monday I was doing great, full steam ahead. I was like a WW newbie. Counting my points, carefully tracking, getting my guidelines in, even burning 10 AP. Then - out of nowhere- Ringggggggg! Its my friend calling me over to her pad to celebrate her b-friend's b-day.

Now, I was doing great up until this moment. It was 9 pm and I still had 4 points left! I thought, Sure we'll go over and have A BEER. One beer. Besides it was The Fiance's B-day at midnight so I figured we would celebrate both Birthdays at the same time.

Little did I know she would have the full spread out when we got there. Doritos, Fried Chicken, fried potato wedges, Carne Asada,  con queso & salsa and of course RED VELVET CAKE!!! On top of that beer & liquor. Nothing was healthy on that table and it was all sitting in front of me. I had no where to go and no matter where I looked the fatty goodness was staring me in the eye. Honestly, I tried to avoid it but with everyone sitting around the table chillin, I definitely would have looked oddball had I sat anywhere else. One Dorito I said to my self. But once it hit my lips- it was all over! I couldn't say "No" to anything. It was all down hill from there.

When we left I had serious eaters remorse. Even the Fiance felt the same.... we agreed the temptation was too much to take. You must have willpower of steel if you could sit in front of all that food and not lose control.

But here is my problem, we are suppose to get together to celebrate The Fiance's birthday. We had such a good time last night- but last night I gobbled down all of my 35 extra points. Leaving me with nothing today. i dont want today's celebration to turn into another free-for all.

I need a game plan.  So what should I do tonight??? Please help me with suggestions, strategies- I will be in charge of providing the food. How am I going to make it through tonight?
